Avoid the great European Wi-Fi rip off with Boingo: Swiss hotspots added to network

Tired of paying 30 EUR a day for Wi-Fi access in Europe? Boingo Networks, the hotspot aggregator, has signed a deal with Swisscom that allows Boingo members to use Swisscom’s hotspots — but only in Switzerland. Swisscom is one of the worst offenders when it comes to pricey Wi-Fi access. I used to call them SWISS-CON. Their expensive, lousy service made such an impression on science fiction writer, Cory Doctorow, that it is immortalized in one of Doctorow’s novels.

Unfortunately, the Boingo deal does not cover Swisscom hotspots outside Switzerland, of which there are way too many. Read more on Muniwireless:
