Mind in me application

Mindin.me (pronounced “Mind In Me”) is an online application that allows you to quickly post reminders (buy birthday present), tasks (go swimming), events (beta launch party on Thursday), contacts and miscellaneous notes to yourself. You can tag them, categorize them (business, personal or general) and search. It is essentially a mind archive within easy reach. The interface is clean, uncluttered and a breeze to navigate. It is now open for beta testing. Mindin.me was created by Murat Esenli who is based in Istanbul, Turkey. Below is my Q&A with Murat.

Q&A with Mural Esenli

What was your inspiration for starting Mindin.me?

There are a lot of applications and millions of users all over the world. I have used some applications, too, but I have found many to be too complicated and cluttered. I wanted to have one page with the simplest of functions for listing, editing, sharing and searching.

Most people have very busy schedules and there are dozens of things they want to remember for later, for personal and business use: notes, to do lists, emails and phone numbers of contacts, busy calendars and web bookmarks. It’s very hard to capture all of them in our minds. We want to have a quick overview of these notes from anywhere. If you use a typical “to do-notes” application, you first must choose your note category, then enter all information details and save but if you want to reach all posts, you have to go through a lot of pages. The Mindin.me process starts from your thoughts and you can write quickly. Then, when you click the post type button, it will be saved. If you want to monitor and edit all posts, it’s enough to take a look at the list on same page.

Who is your target audience?

Anybody can use Mindin.me because it is simple. But it is for really busy people who:

  • want to capture notable things anywhere and anytime;
  • want separate notes about personal and business;
  • do quick searches;
  • don’t want to use computer or mobile device for hours.

How do you plan to make money?

We are planning paid packages for monthly and free trial usage, of course. You may say, “it’s utopian” but we have an interesting idea: for example I have a lot of important information notes about technical, Internet, marketing, management, etc. Would I want share these notes with just anyone? Of course not. But, I might want to sell them.

Will you have an iPhone app?

It’s not ready yet, but we are developing iPhone and other mobile applications. Mindin.me is still in private BETA status. We want to finish our beta test first and get feedback from our users.

Are you self-funded?

Yes.
