LinkedStore is an e-commerce platform where retailers and small merchants from Latin America can create their own online store in a couple of minutes. Merchants can give their online stores a customized look and feel, and they can set up multiple storefronts. LinkedStore provides a Web Store and a Facebook Store to include in a merchant’s Facebook Fan Page. In addition, they provide e-commerce training to clients so they can get the most out of their online store and become more effective in selling goods and services on the Internet.

LinkedStore was started by Alejandro Alfonso, José Abuchaem, Martín Palombo and Santiago Sosa in December 2010. They are based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Below is a short Q&A with co-founder, José Abuchaem.

Q: What inspired you to launch LinkedStore?

A: We noticed that merchants in Latin America did not have an easy way to start selling online. We were working on a project (e-commerce related) and began to see that merchants where our heavy users even though that project did not address their specific needs. So we decided to create LinkedStore to provide merchants with everything they needed to start selling online.

Q: How are you making money (or how will you make money in the future)?

A: We charge a monthly fee of $20, $35 or $60 depending on the features needed by our clients.

Q: Where do you see your LinkedStore within a year?

A: We want to be very aggressive in Latin America and have a strong presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. We plan to grow strong in Latin America and then go to the US and Europe with a more sophisticated product.

Q: Are you self-funded?

A: Yes. But we are also looking for angel funding.
